The onsen experience was calming, providing

A great way to unwind after a long day on the slopes. The staff was helpful in guiding us to local attractions. The room decor was somewhat outdated, which might not appeal to everyone.

The ski-in-ski-out access here was fantastic for my family, especially with three young children in tow. We loved the spacious ski storage, made gearing up for the slopes easy. Plus, the breakfast spread was varied enough to satisfy all tastes!

My kids wished for a bigger play area.

    prime location
    extensive breakfast
    natural onsen
    dated rooms

The on-site onsen features both indoor and outdoor pools with natural mineral water. The breakfast buffet offers an excellent array of options, from traditional Japanese dishes to Western favorites.

Rooms feel a bit dated, lacking the modern touch that some might prefer for a higher-end experience. The lobby has a cramped ski lodge vibe, which might not create the warm welcome expected upon arrival. While there's a foot massage facility, the absence of a full exercise room leaves fitness enthusiasts wanting more.

    attention to details

Ski-in-ski-out access is fantastic. The spacious onsen was a highlight. The breakfast buffet offered an excellent selection, including delicious toasts that satisfied everyone's morning cravings. The rooms felt a bit cramped and could benefit from modern updates. While the staff was helpful, there were moments when more attention to details could enhance the experience.

    ski-in-ski-out access
    spacious lockers
    cramped bathroom
    dated areas
    lack of fitness options

The location excels with true ski-in-ski-out access, and the spacious lockers for equipment add a layer of convenience for winter sports enthusiasts. Enjoying juicy burgers at the on-site dining was a pleasant surprise, though the bathroom felt cramped, typical for many places in Japan. Some areas show their age, and a lack of fitness options might leave active travelers wanting more.

Stayed at a ski hotel just a short distance from Annupuri, with direct access to the slopes and a convenient place to store our ski equipment. The hotel had a cozy and rustic atmosphere, making us feel like we were staying in a traditional ski lodge. The staff were friendly and helpful, providing us with useful information about the area and recommending nearby restaurants. The highlight of our stay was the delicious breakfast buffet, offering a wide variety of tasty dishes to start our day on the slopes.

My children wanted a larger play area for kids.

The room at Hotel Niseko Alpen was cozy and comfortable, with a flat-screen TV and air conditioning. We loved the private bathroom with a bath and bidet, along with the slippers and free toiletries provided. Having a fridge and an electric kettle with green tea in the room was a nice touch. The mountain view from our quadruple room, equipped with an electric kettle and air conditioning, was breathtaking. It was convenient to have a kettle in the room for a quick cup of tea.

Personally, I found the shower/tub combination in the private bathroom a bit inconvenient.
